Residents of Zim community in Ropp District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State have fled their homes following an attack by suspected herdsmen on the community.
Our correspondent gathered that the herdsmen at about 7:30 pm on Tuesday ambushed three people at Zim community, killing one person and wounding two others.
The victim was identified as Mr. Dazi Bulus, 28, while Mr. Yohanna Gyang, 26, was critically injured. Mr. Choji Pamescaped with minor injuries.
The Executive Director of Stefanos Foundation, Mr. Mark Lipdo, said the villagers believe that the attack was part of a recent rumored plan by herdsmen to begin attacking the areasin Northern parts of Plateau.
He said that Fulani herdsmen have similarly all fled their homes in the neighbourhood.
